Hello there, I’m Mrs. Ensey!

I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a teacher. In high school, I started volunteering at a local AWANA program and became a cadet teacher before graduating from Santiam Christian in 2004. In the later 2000’s, I was a math major at Linn Benton Community College. Teaching math became my passion, and I was hired as a math tutor at LBCC. I also privately tutored flute. I knew my husband from high school and got reacquainted with him at LBCC. We were married in 2008.

When our oldest was born, I became a stay-at-home-mom and then a homeschool mom. I had the privilege of teaching our children how to read fluently before their fifth birthdays. (At this point, I think God was preparing me to teach kindergarten...)

Throughout my 20’s and now 30’s I have loved volunteering at AWANA programs, Sunday schools, VBS at several churches, and homeschool co-ops. In April of 2023, Craig and I felt God calling us to JBC. After two Sundays, we were hooked! I immediately jumped at the opportunity to teach Sunday school and volunteer at AWANA. Toward the end of 2024, I felt God tugging me once more down this teaching path. When I heard about JCS needing teachers, I felt led to inquire. I think I know why. I absolutely love teaching children! I love seeing the light go on in their face when they understand what I’m teaching them. I love hearing their creative and raw answers when they speak the truth about Jesus.

Now, if you’ll please excuse me, I have some kindergarten lessons to prepare! :)
