Women's Safety Awareness/Self-Defense Class
Saturday, March 28, 9-11am in the Gym!
The event is for Women ages 15+.
Instructors:
John Stoltz – 20-year Defensive Tactics Instructor for the Corrections Division, with a background in boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Krav Maga.
Tyler Nelsen – Three-year Defensive Tactics Instructor for the Community Corrections Division, with a background in Krav Maga.
Connie Trigilio – 11-year Defensive Tactics Instructor for the Community Corrections Division, with a background in Krav Maga.
Course Content:
Situational Awareness: Avoid, Escape, Defend
Combative: Straight punch, palm strike, hammer fists, elbows (1–3), knees, and front kick
Wrist Grabs: Same-side grab, cross grab, and two-handed grab
Defense Against Attacks: Bear hug from the rear with arms trapped and arms free
Participants should bring water and a small towel, wear comfortable clothing (gym attire recommended), and avoid wearing jewelry, as it could cause injury or be damaged during hands-on application.
The proposed schedule is 15–20 minute safety awareness presentation followed by 30–45 minutes of defensive tactics instruction.
