Growing up in Albany, the youth ministry at Jefferson Baptist Church had a significant impact on Josiah’s life, particularly in his relationship with God and his desire to serve in ministry. Josiah began involvement in JBC youth ministries about ten years ago and, since his early high school years, has been involved in youth and worship ministry leadership. After High School, Josiah attended Misso College in Salem, Oregon, pursuing a bachelor's degree in biblical ministries, which he will complete this spring. For the past 5 years, Josiah has had a calling to bring the gospel to the youth in the community of Jefferson at Jefferson Baptist Church.

For the last few years, Josiah has been the middle school youth pastor. Recently, he has transitioned to a High school youth pastor. His goal is to bring the gospel and community to the youth of Jefferson, Oregon, and beyond. Josiah leads a weekly youth group where they have an awesome time and dig deep into God's word. Josiah also believes that we worship a joyful God; therefore, the youth group must be fun. Josiah regularly leads youth events such as rafting, bowling, hiking, and youth camps to increase the two goals of bringing the gospel and community to the youth of Jefferson.

Outside of JBC, Josiah, along with his wife Lydia, enjoys many outdoor hobbies and has a hard time sticking to one or two. Some of these include snowboarding, dirt bike riding, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and whitewater kayaking.
