Josiah Dittman was born and raised in Salem, Oregon, and grew up right here at Jefferson Baptist Church. In the fall of 2017, he began interning at a local recording studio—an experience that first sparked his passion for music, sound, and technology. He went on to earn a degree from New Hope Christian College in Eugene, Oregon, where he studied Technology and Production. During his time at NHCC, Josiah gained extensive hands-on experience integrating AVL (Audio, Visual, and Lighting) systems and mixing audio in a wide range of settings—from solo performances with mobile PA systems to full bands on large-format stages.
Since joining the JBC staff in early 2021, Josiah has been responsible for installing and operating the church’s Audio, Visual, and Lighting systems used to enhance and capture services and events. Beyond JBC, he has also partnered with other local churches, schools, and non-profits, helping to improve their sound systems as part of his ministry to the broader community.
Outside of his technical work, Josiah enjoys creative projects, spending time outdoors, watching UFC, and cooking. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve at JBC and wherever else God calls him, striving to ensure that the truth of the Gospel is heard as clearly as it is spoken.
